The Second Child - A Disclaimer

One of you out there requested an update about Jude. (Why yes, we do take requests.)  As I scroll back through earlier posts, it occurs to me that many are distinctly Aoife-centric.  Let it be known that Jude is at almost all times either just behind (and reaching for) the camera OR in a stroller, which is decidedly uninteresting to photograph.
It's hard to appear dynamic when bound to a strolling device.

At times, he pulls it off.

For those of you who are concerned that perhaps Jude is wasting away in Aoife's shadows, rest assured.  He is cool as a cucumber and getting plenty of attention in Geneva.  As it turns out, Jude* is quite a hit amongst the 4 to 5 year old set.  His sister has taken on the roles of number one need-anticipator and personal jester/entertainer.

Here you see Jude partaking in his two favored pastimes.

Relieving containers of their items...

Emptying vessels, although non-competitive,
appears to be a game of cultivated strategy that Jude
may have learned from another family member.

and swinging endlessly on any balancoires (swings) he can negotiate his way into.

*Some have taken to calling him Judebug Jones, a moniker inspired by the nickname-packed children's book, Skippyjon Jones.   The librarian of our dreams, Kristin Rimington, recommended this terrific read-aloud to us.  We're hoping she'll start a kid-lit blog soon.

He is getting so big! I love the photo of him waving from the swing. Also love the pictures of the two of them playing. It must be so much fun for Aoife to have someone to take care of. Keep the photos coming! I'm in DC for business. You missed the German festival this weekend - lots of drunk people wandering around Lincoln Square.

Awe, my favorite little man is getting mighty active. and, handsome.
Their room looks big. I like the bunkbed. Could you please scan that camera a little more around your place. We'd love to see more of it. Since you are taking requests :)
I refuse to call him Judebug Jones,(although I love the inspired book) next thing you know we'll be calling him JJ. NO. He'll always be just Judebug to me. (imho)
Nice post.
