'Night, John Boy. 'Night, Maw. 'Night, Paw.

It's been a long while since our last big adventure, and we'd forgotten how many dimensions it could take on.  There are the obvious positives - the excitement of fresh-eyed, awkward newness, the humor that goes along with minor misunderstandings, and the exhilaration of constant learning.  Then there are the oft-overlooked negatives - the bureaucratic hurdles, the ache of missing people, the lack of creature comforts, the delays, the less-than-fun surprises.

We have come to the conclusion that adventure is...a big pain in the arse.

According to our super-duper deep take on adventure, if one wants a lot of it, one simply needs to develop a really high tolerance for mildly annoying discomforts and setbacks that put you just-barely out of reach of something you would really like to have.

We're all sleeping together, for now, until we finish negotiating our way through the IKEA boxes (and instructions - the nearly-finished bunk bed's wordless manual just cheerfully reminded us that we needed to supply our own rectangular prism.  Any advice is welcome...Val?)

Now, don't go thinking we're not up for this adventure, 'cause we most definitely are.  And we're not even pretending to be "roughing it".

Here we are in the process of ordering the best salad ever imagined on this earth.
Please contact us for a description, as the ingredients may offend some of our followers.
