If we gave you

You mean you haven't heard of the world famous
 llamas of Provence?

twenty questions and two hints, you would not be able to guess what we did the other day.  (Although two people were forced to do so, and they survived the experience.  Bravo, M. and D.!)

We spent the afternoon caring for Llamas on a tiny llama farm in the hills at the edge of Aix.  (Loyal followers, you'll understand that we are back in Aix, taking advantage of the Jeune Genevois holiday.)

We signed up for a last minute promenade at Aix en Lama, which we thought might last an hour.  Little did we know, we were to receive a comprehensive 4 hour training on the intricacies of Llama care.

Go ahead, ask us anything.

We brushed and brushed and brushed each and every llama.
We brushed with more gusto when it became apparent that we would not take

our promenade until our chores were complete.

The walk was well worth the chores.
That's the edge of the Montaigne St. Victoire behind us.

Aoife now states that she only likes to hike in the company of a llama,
preferably Julos, the one you see here.

Jude was more skeptical, but compliant, nevertheless.

Llama Llove. What a great experience. Aoife looks so grown up! And, it look like she found her lost beloved head scarf. (oh wait, she told me some people call it a scarf, but she calls it headband..funny girl)

I wish I could have played that 20 question game on this one.

keep the photos and posts coming, please.

xoxo

Thanks, guys! It was a bizarre and great experience. Aoife was the most composed of the group...those llamas made the adults pretty skittish.

Having a great time. Missing yous, though.

Did they have any llama yarn for sale? It looks like great fun and very educational. I would love to know what the fiber art scene is like there. Do you see people knitting in public?

J,
They gave us a little wool, but they didn't have yarn for us. It was such an interesting day in an amazing setting - felt isolated, but it was just a few minutes from the city of Aix en Provence.

Haven't tapped in to the fiber art scene, but it must exist. I have not spotted any public knitting. I will post a photo if I spot someone, ok?
