Taking Attendance

Proper bloggers, I'll bet, are able to expound, show, and share without response.  I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm not a proper blogger.

True, part of the goal of this here blog is purely for documentation's sake, seeing that Tim and I, no matter how hard we wish, will never, ever be scrapbookers.  (You liked that mental image, didn't you?) Now that we're in a new nest, though, we at Aoife & Jude are trying to make everyone feel caught up (*), so when we see you, we don't need to catch up.  We are very curious to know who is out there, looking in...besides our supportive moms and you five, glorious people who leave us comments.

For today's post, I'll be taking attendance.  If your eyes are reading these words (even if it's far into the future - we check our comments regularly) please leave a comment showing that you are present.  Don't worry, you don't have to say anything deep or clever, just your first name and here or present will do.  I know, I know, anonymity is pretty cozy, but I promise not to do this very often.
{This seems like the right time to announce that the prize for Most Loyal Comment Leaver goes to...Jackie!  Congratulations, Jackie.  As soon as I figure out how to send something by mail, you'll receive a thank you gift of Swiss chocolate.  Instead of PRESENT, your comment should state: WHITE, MILK, DARK, or WITH HAZELNUTS.}
Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for participating in this little experiment.

(*) There are snags in this plan.  We forgot that blogging isn't a conversation and we forgot that not very many of you have your own blogs.

I suppose I don't qualify for the chocolate, but am "present" any how. Despite our silence, we McDermott's sure do enjoy this here blog you've been writin', espcially impressive to someone who can't even really figure out how to get the photos out of the phone and on to the computer.

And dog gone it, you are going to hear a lot more from us if there is candy at stake!

Wow, this is exciting to see all my thoughts in print. Perhaps you have created a monster and you will soon be offering me chocolate to get me to STOP posting on your blog-

I'm here! I'm here! And I'm loving every word. It's a bit surprising that almost every post is making me tear up a bit, though. I miss you guys to pieces.

Oh, also, my mom is tuning in but I can't promise she will leave a comment. So count me as 2.

Thanks, thanks, thanks to everyone so far! (And hi, Nilufer!)

No embarrassment, Maddie. Your mom made me choke on a beverage - I love it when her unruly side comes out.
